Privacy Notice

1. Data we collect

We may collect your name, service address, city, ZIP code, phone number, email address, your own description of the water-heater issue, requested category, contact preference, age/authority confirmation, consent response and evidence, communications with HWOC, source and campaign information, device/browser information, IP address, timestamps, and website interaction data. We do not request payment-card or bank information for plumbing work.

2. Why we use it

We use data to receive and validate your request; document permission; identify an eligible plumbing company; share the minimum necessary request data after consent; notify you of the matched company; prevent fraud and duplicates; operate, secure, measure, and improve the marketplace; honor privacy and contact choices; keep business records; and comply with law.

3. Who receives it

After affirmative consent, one independently owned plumbing company may receive the information needed to respond to your request. Our hosting, CRM, analytics, communications, security, legal, accounting, and other service providers may process data for us under applicable obligations. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, financing, sale, or reorganization subject to applicable notice and rights.

The plumbing company has its own privacy practices and is independently responsible for its calls, texts, contracts, payments, and service records. Ask that company for its privacy notice.

4. Consent and communications

We do not send your request to a plumbing company unless you give affirmative permission. You may revoke future contact permission by replying STOP to a text or contacting us. Revocation does not undo a transfer already completed at your request and may prevent us from finding a partner. Message and data rates may apply. We do not guarantee that a partner will accept or respond.

5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We may use first- and third-party technologies to operate the site, attribute requests, prevent abuse, measure advertising, and build audiences where permitted. These may involve targeted advertising or disclosure of online identifiers. Browser controls and legally required opt-out signals may limit some processing. Advertising-platform settings are also available from the platform provider.

6. Your choices and Texas privacy rights

Depending on your location and applicable exemptions, you may request access, confirmation, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of personal data, and may opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or certain profiling. You may also appeal a denied request. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a right.

Submit a request or appeal by emailing privacy@hotwateroncall.com or calling (469) 902-5104. State “privacy request,” identify the right, and provide enough information for us to verify you. Authorized agents may submit requests where law allows. To opt out of a future lead transfer before matching, contact us immediately and state “do not share my request.”

7. Retention and security

We retain personal data only as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, consent and delivery evidence, disputes, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal obligations, then delete or deidentify it under our retention schedule. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, but no system is completely secure.

8. Children

The marketplace is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 and require the submitter to confirm they are at least 18.

9. Changes

We may update this notice. We will post the revised effective date and provide additional notice where required. Materially different use of previously collected data will receive any consent required by law.
